Francis Ontoyin is an Associate at Reindorf Chambers. He has been in practice with the firm since 2016, mainly in the areas of financial services, projects and infrastructure, energy and natural resources, and dispute resolution.

Experience has included advising:

  • As a team member, the Government of Ghana through the Public Investment Division of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (PID-MOFEP) in respect of capacity building services for the development of a sectorial Public Private Partnership toolkit for the roads sector and the establishment of a “PPP legal hotline” within the Ministry of Finance
  • As a team member, an international financial institution regarding an evaluation of the credit enforcement process within the Borrowers and Lenders Act, 2008 (Act 773) in respect of which the firm provided a written report of findings and policy recommendations
  • As a team member, a multi-national company in respect of the proposed acquisition of rights held by another company in a restricted mining lease expressed as a quarry license
  • As a team member, a foreign investor in respect of the proposed acquisition of the shares of a medical facility specialising in oncology care
  • As a team member, a company in an action against an individual in the High Court in a matter involving the enforcement of rights of occupation to property pursuant to an agreement under which the company’s business had been merged with that of a company previously owned by the other party
  • As a team member, a multi-national company in a suit brought against it and the Attorney-General by the Ghana Mine Workers Union, a trade union, brought over Gold Fields’ decision to retrench approximately 2,300 employees as a result of its decision to adopt contract mining
  • As a team member, a multi-national company regarding whether or not chiefs are government officials under Ghana law
