Divesh joined Juristconsult Chambers after being admitted to the Bar of Mauritius.
He is a member of the litigation department, acting for both domestic and international clients in corporate and commercial disputes, as well as insolvency matters.

Divesh consistently offers advisory services across the spectrum of the Chambers' practice areas, with a notable emphasis on Company Law. His expertise extends from guiding fledgling businesses to established corporations, covering an array of corporate legal processes including mergers and acquisitions, compliance matters, transactional analysis, and employment law concerns. He also advises clients concerning their pension obligations as well as offers expert guidance and counsel in navigating the intricacies of intellectual property rights.

Experience has included advising:

  • Acting as Team Counsel for Okiyo Maritime Corp, a major international ship owner, in an application to set up a limitation fund under the Merchant Shipping Act 2007 in the amount of approximately MUR 720,000,000 following the grounding of the vessel MV Wakashio;
  • Acted for African Leadership Unleashed Ltd, one of the leading higher education institutions in Africa, in a major cross-border contractual dispute;
  • Acting as Team Counsel for a leading management company licensed by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius, in several applications before the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court against one of its former clients, who has allegedly suffered prejudice in the amount of approximately GBP 3,500,000 following our client’s IT system being the victim of a phishing attack.
  • Acted as Counsel for Quincaillerie J. Kawal ltd before the Bankruptcy Court of the Supreme Court to resist an application of winding up under Section 102 of the Insolvency Act;
  • Acted as Team Counsel for Dynacom Investments Limited in disclosure order proceedings in front of the Judge in Chambers;
  • Acted as Team Counsel for Altron Africa Ltd in injunction proceedings against a major local bank in front of the Commercial Court of the Supreme Court;
  • Acts as mediator and assist in the identification of issues and the exploration of options to facilitate mutually acceptable and/or amicable agreements to resolve the dispute;
  • Acts as Team Counsel for Baie du Cap EstatesLimited in a number of litigation and regulatory matters;
  • Acts as Team Counsel for GIBB (Mauritius) Ltd in a number of litigation and regulatory matters.
