Natasha Mukangara is a practicing Advocate of the High Court in Tanzania Mainland. She joined IMMMA Advocates in 2013 and is a Senior Associate and the lead lawyer in the Immigration department. Although Natasha’s area of practice is immigration law she is also competent in corporate, commercial, banking & finance law.

Natasha has succesfully assisted companies and individuals in procuring work and residence permits for their foreign employees. She is also responsible for tailored immigration solutions and general legal advice in a wide range of industries.

The experience she has gained by acting on over one hundred work and residence applications provides her with the knowledge and insight necessary to formulate and implement immigration strategies that best suit clients’ needs.

Experience has included:

  • Processing and preparing necessary documents for work permit and residence permit applications at the Ministry of Labour and Employment and Immigration for foreign employees respectively;
  • Preparing applications for registration with professional bodies for foreign employees with special skills for purposes of work permit applications. These professional posts include posts for engineers, accountants, procurement and supplies technicians;
  • Preparing applications required for business visas and processing other exemptions from work permit and residence permits;
  • Preparing applications required for referral visas in relation to applications requiring prior approval from the Tanzania Immigration before entering Tanzania;
  • Immigration compliance matters;
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts for foreign workers to confirm that they meet with the requirements of the relevant authorities;
  • Preparing permanent work and residence permit applications for investors, entrepreneurs and self-employed workers;
  • Preparation of citizenship applications;
  • Preparing and processing students and volunteers permit applications; and
  • Processing appeals to the Prime Minister’s office, Youth Labour Disability and Employment and to the Ministry of Home Affairs in relation to work permit rejection.
