Edinam Cofie is an Associate at Reindorf Chambers. He has been in practice with the firm since 2013, mainly in the areas of projects and infrastructure, energy and natural resources, and dispute resolution.

Experience has included advising:

  • As a team member, an international bank on its acquisition through a local bank of another bank in Ghana and the steps for the subsequent merger of the two local banks
  • As a team member, the Government of Ghana through the Public Investment Division of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (PID-MOFEP) in respect of capacity building services for the development of a sectorial Public Private Partnership toolkit for the roads sector and the establishment of a “PPP legal hotline” within the Ministry of Finance
  • As a team member, the Government of Ghana in international arbitration proceedings brought by it against Côte d’Ivoire pursuant to Part XV of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea before the Special Chamber of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea (ITLOS), in accordance with Article 15(2) of the Statute of the Tribunal
  • As a team member, a bulk petroleum products storage and distribution company in the review and negotiation of contracts for the front end engineering design of a 750 km buried national gas transmission utility pipeline build-out
  • As a team member, an LNG supply developer in relation to a project for the construction of infrastructure  to receive, store and re-gasify liquefied natural gas and to deliver natural gas to power plants and industrial concerns in Ghana
  • As a team member, a foreign bank in three separate court actions relating to a mandatory takeover offer made by it to shareholders of a Ghanaian bank
  • As a team member, the main minerals industry association in Ghana in respect of compliance with a ministerial policy directive being implemented by the Environmental Protection Agency
  • As a team member, a major mining company in respect of sanctions imposed by the Environmental Protection Agency for alleged breaches of environmental obligations
  • As a team member, a major aircraft manufacturer regarding the legal regime for making unsolicited proposals to entities covered by Ghana’s Public Procurement Act
  • As a team member,  a mining company in the United Kingdom in relation to its acquisition of two mineral rights owned by two Ghanaian companies as part of the process for admission of the mining company’s issued share capital to trading on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange
