Celine is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania Mainland and an Associate Trainee at the Firm. She works closely with Mr. Gaspar Nyika in the Litigation Department and Ms. Samah Salah in the Employment and Labour Relations Practice.
She assists partners and senior lawyers in providing legal advisory services and representing clients before the High Court, subordinate courts, and various tribunals across Tanzania. Celine has supported matters involving leading institutions such as Exim Bank Tanzania Limited, CRDB Bank, Ecobank Tanzania Limited, NCBA Bank Tanzania Limited, Airtel Tanzania, and Vodacom Tanzania.
Her experience includes preparing legal opinions on commercial transactions and civil litigation matters, including electronic contracts, electronic signatures, enforcement of personal guarantees, and judicial review applications. She has also been involved in representing corporate clients in land disputes before the High Court Land Division and District Land and Housing Tribunals, as well as assisting employers in employment disputes before the High Court Labour Division and the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration (CMA).
Experience has included advising:
- Experienced in dispute resolution through arbitration and mediation, assisting clients in pursuing amicable settlements between parties to an agreement.
- Assisting in advising one of Tanzania's leading telecommunication provider on the implication of the Universal Health Insurance Act, 2023.
- Assisted in advising a polish group of investors on potential legal actions against the Authority for the delays in the implementation of their project.
- Assisting in preparing Applications for both stay of execution and rectification of party’s names for a leading multimodal transport and logistics operator in Africa at the High Court Labour Division against the claim by its employees who seeks to execute an award by the CMA.
- Assisting in advising a local bank in several claims at the High Court of Tanzania at Dar es Salaam.
- Assisting in advising Tanzania’s leading mobile operator and mobile financial services provider in several matters at the High Court of Tanzania.
- Assisted in preparing Applications for reference, stay of execution and extension of time for Airtel Tanzania in several matters at the High Court of Tanzania and Court of Appeal.
- She is experienced in drafting of various legal documents.
