Hellen joined the firm in 2023 as an intern and has since progressed to the role of Associate Trainee. Her areas of practice include corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, and financial services.

She works closely with partners, supporting the provision of legal advice on a wide range of corporate matters in Tanzania, including business formation and registration, as well as post-incorporation services across various sectors.

Hellen has assisted in advising both local and international clients on compliance matters relating to corporate governance and the review of commercial and joint venture agreements. She also supports partners in preparing due diligence reports, providing company secretarial services, and drafting and reviewing contracts. 

Experience has included advising:

  • As a team member assisting in preparing a merger application for companies across various sectors.
  • As a team member currently conducting comprehensive legal due diligence on a group of companies in the energy sector in advance of proposed acquisition, including review of corporate structure, regulatory compliance, key contracts, and potential legal risks to inform transaction decision-making.
  • As a team member advised a high margin and growing gold company in Tanzania on the suspension of a special mining license and the possibility of temporarily suspending its responsibilities in connection with any activities affecting the Invaded Areas.
  • As a team member assisted both local and foreign investors on aspects and step involved when establishing a business in Tanzania and modes of properly managing the said businesses.
  • As a team member assisted in advising on the client’s compliance with the recent amendments to the mining local content requirements and assessing the legal implications arising from the current shareholding structure and operational arrangements.
  • As a team member assisted in ensuring that various companies comply with statutory requirements by providing company secretarial services.
  • As a team member assisted in conducting legal research and contributing to a legal opinion on matters relating to copyright law and regulatory compliance in Tanzania.

  • Tumaini University Dar es Salaam College, Bachelor of law, LL. B (2023).
  • Law School of Tanzania, Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (2025).
