DLA Piper Africa, Namibia (ESI) bolsters corporate and commercial capability with the appointment of Dr Meyer van den Berg

DLA Piper Africa, Namibia (ESI) has announced the appointment of Dr Meyer van den Berg as consultant in the corporate practice in Windhoek. Meyer brings more than 10 years’ experience in advising local and international clients on the full spectrum of corporate and commercial work, including also advising on mining, energy, environment, competition and project financing related matters.

Meyer joins the firm from Koep & Partners where he was a partner since 2015.  He is also a lecturer at the University of Namibia (company, commercial and criminal law) and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Cape Town, where he is affiliated with the DST/NRF Research Chair: Mineral Law in Africa. Meyer served as the chairperson of the Law Society of Namibia until his term came to an end during November 2020. He is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA). He is joined by associate, Jamie Theron.
