DLA Piper Africa achieves impressive results in the newly released 2020 edition of The Legal 500: Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)edition
We advise on a wide range of land, real estate, property projects in the region. Land transactions have the potential to be fraught in Africa and we support our clients with complex land acquisition and titling issues.
Our team in Senegal advises on contracts of sale, residents’ rules for co-tenancy, and related corporate issues, such as project finance, tax and construction.
Experience has included advising:
- Savini Group and Compania Generale Servizi in relation to their USD90 million property project for 570 housing units in Gabon.
- Orascom on an integrated housing project in a disadvantaged area of Dakar that comprises 270 housing units, including 210 that will be made available to the existing occupants, with the remaining 60 being sold to the public to finance the project.
- Dangote Group on a land dispute in relation to a cement plant project.
- Jumbo Group on a joint venture to develop 80 villas in Somone in Senegal.
As the articles in this issue show, the world’s second largest continent may offer real opportunities to foreign investors in real estate.
