Mame Ngoné Sow presents at the Sim Senegal Conference

GENI & KEBE's senior associate, Mame Ngoné Sow, presented at the fifth Salon International des Mines du Sénégal / Senegal International Mining Conference and Exhibition (SIM Senegal), held in Dakar from 6-8 November 2018.

Ms Sow spoke on accessing finance for mining activities. She is an experienced banking and finance lawyer. She shared with the audience some tips for securing and safeguarding appropriate funding for resource development, particularly in light of changes to Senegal’s mining code enacted in 2016. The session was moderated by the Hon Amadou BA, the Senegalese Minister of Economy, Finance and Planning.  GENI & KEBE co-sponsored the session with DLA Piper Africa.

Organised by the Senegalese Ministry of Mines and Geology in association with AME trade, SIM Senegal is the only event supported by the government of Senegal dedicated to expanding the country’s mining sector.  The mining sector is a major area of practice for GENI & KEBE, given the strategic importance of natural resources in the African economy. GENI & KEBE advises a range of mining operators in relation to exploration licences, regulatory compliance, government relations, risk mitigation, environmental approvals, project finance, tax, land acquisition and litigation.
