In April 2025, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) welcomed a new member to its prestigious panel of arbitrators: Senegalese lawyer Mouhamed Kébé. His appointment, for a six-year term, follows an official proposal by the Government of Senegal, in accordance with the provisions of the ICSID Convention.
Established in 1966 under the auspices of the World Bank, ICSID is governed by a multilateral treaty aimed at encouraging international investment by providing legal certainty in relations between States and foreign investors.
Based in Washington D.C., ICSID is recognised as the leading institution for the settlement of international investment disputes.
Independent and apolitical, the centre offers parties a variety of mechanisms, ranging from conciliation to arbitration, mediation and fact-finding. To date, it has administered more than a thousand disputes involving states and investors.

A member of the Senegalese and Ivorian bars, Mouhamed Kébé is Managing Partner of GENI & KEBE, affiliated with the international network DLA Piper Africa.
