Clement Ocran-Biney is an Associate at Reindorf Chambers, Ghana. He has been in practice with the firm since November 2022.

He is primarily involved in advising clients in the areas of tax, employment, company set-ups, due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory compliance, data protection, technology, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.

Experience has included advising:

  • As a team member, a foreign company on a transfer pricing tax audit conducted by the Ghana Revenue Authority which initially resulted in a USD25 million tax assessment, and successfully negotiating a reduction to USD7.5 million.
  • As a team member, a  Ghanaian company on a GHS10 million tax appeal.
  • As a team member, a multinational company engaged in various modules of ride-hailing services on several tax compliance queries in Ghana.
  • As a team member, a leading multijurisdictional mining company on the acquisition of shares in one of its mining companies in Ghana, and on a number of queries relating to the transaction.
  • As a team member, a multinational bank on a preacquisition legal due diligence for the acquisition of shares in a major commercial bank in Ghana and prepared a preliminary regulatory report for the transaction.
  • As a team member, an international development bank on the sale of banking products through local referral partners.
  • As a team member, a foreign IT company on regulatory compliance in Ghana regarding generative AI.
  • As a team member, a Fortune 500 company on a number of queries relating to compliance with data protection laws in Ghana.
  • As a team member, a leading mining company on several employment-related litigation matters.
  • As a team member, an international NGO on the expulsion of refugees in Ghana.
