Ahmed is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group of IKM. As a team member he has been involved in a number of complex litigation, arbitration and mediation matters and has gained exposure and experience in a wide range of disputes, including commercial, banking, succession, admiralty, constitutional petitions, insolvency and contractual claims.
He assists in advising clients on risk management, enforcement of arbitral awards and negotiation of settlement agreements in high-stakes disputes as well as issuing legal opinions to clients.
Experience has included advising:
- As a team member, acted for a major banking institution in defending a multi-faceted claim for over USD 80 million.
- As a team member, acted for a major financial regulator in an arbitration for KES 15 billion
- As a team member, acted for one of Africa’s largest media houses in several defamation claims.
- Involved in advising international clients in maritime disputes
- As a team member, advised one of the largest telecommunications companies in Africa in a constitutional claim.
- As a team member advised a major financial institution on the potential liability and exposure upon thorough due diligence of all its litigation matters
