Kennedy Mburo is an Associate in the Real Estate and Finance Practice Group, with a strong focus on banking and finance. He works as part of a team advising local and international financial institutions and corporates on lending transactions, security structuring and regulatory compliance.
His practice includes the preparation and review of facility agreements, charges and ancillary security documents, as well as legal due diligence. He has acted on a range of financing matters for commercial banks in Kenya, assisting with transaction documentation, execution and ongoing advisory work.
Kennedy also advises on real estate matters that are ancillary to finance transactions, including legal due diligence on land and development projects, drafting and reviewing commercial leases and sale agreements, and advising developers and investors on property acquisitions, disposals and leasing arrangements.
Experience has included advising:
- As a team member, local and foreign lenders on the structuring and documentation of complex multi-billion financing arrangements.
- As part of a team, various banks on corporate financing transactions, including the preparation and review of facility agreements and related security documentation.
- As a team member, real estate developers on legal due diligence relating to land and project documentation.
- As a team member, advising international clients on the feasibility of operating in Kenya, with a focus on real estate and commercial property requirements and considerations.
