Marla Mandlate Chade is the partner leading the Finance, Banking & Insurance Practice Group. She provides legal advice in respect of banking and forex matters, with particular focus on assistance with finance transactions, including preparing security documents and review of finance agreements, establishment of credit institutions, investment registration and exchange transactions with the Bank of Mozambique, among other matters.

  • Legal assistance on the Initial Public Offering of a Mozambican company with the Mozambique Stock Exchange;
  • Islamic Finance: legal assistance with the extension of a line of credit to a Mozambican Bank;
  • Local project finance counsel in a 175MW gas-fired generating plant;
  • Local project finance counsel in a 300MW gas-fired generating plant;
  • Local project finance counsel in a 40MW gas-fired generating plant;
  • Legal assistance on debt restructuring for a Mozambican company;
  • Legal assistance with the review of banking contracts for credit institutions;
  • Legal assistance with the incorporation of finance and credit institutions;
  • Conducting due diligence for finance and credit institutions and Mozambican companies;

  • Legal assistance for registration of foreign NGO's in Mozambique;
  • Legal assistance with civil aviation matters, namely, licensing and requesting flight permits;
  • Legal assistance with the drafting, negotiation and revision of commercial contracts; and
  • Legal assistance with the registration of foreign exchange transactions with the Central Bank of Mozambique.
