Litigation Officer (Abuja)

Qualifications: HND or Bachelor of Science or Arts (B.Sc. or BA) minimum; Certification in Litigation Support, Paralegal Studies, or a related legal field (added advantage).
Experience: Minimum of Five (5) to Seven (7) years’ proven relevant experience. Prior experience working in a law firm with a strong understanding of court processes.
Location: Abuja
Job Purpose: The role is focused on filing court processes, liaising with court officials, monitoring case progress, and ensuring seamless court-related operations for the Firm. This includes handling filings, serving letters, attending court proceedings, tracking adjournments, and ensuring that all litigation matters are properly recorded and managed. The role requires familiarity with court locations, procedures, and documentation processes in Abuja and other relevant jurisdictions.
Job Responsibilities
- File court processes and legal documents accurately and on time.
- Track case progress, adjournments, and next steps.
- Liaise with court officials, clients, and third parties.
- Maintain case records, filing systems, and meet deadlines.
- Serve letters, notices, and retrieve certified copies of judgments/orders.
- Build and maintain relationships with judicial officers and court staff.
- Monitor court proceedings and provide timely updates.
- Ensure compliance with filing requirements, rules, and statutory deadlines.
- Coordinate court appearances, pre-trial meetings, and case reviews.
- Manage legal documentation, correspondence, and administrative support.
- Assist in obtaining certified records, judgments, and rulings.
- Provide regular updates and status reports to the DRG and Partner.
- Dispatch and scan certificates, receipts, letters, and other official documents.
- Attend meetings and report to DRG and supervising Partner.
- Perform other duties as directed.

- Excellent administrative skills, including case tracking, documentation, and records management
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with strong reporting skills;
- Strong problem-solving, listening, and learning skills, with a proactive and analytical approach;
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with court officials, clients, and legal teams, alongside good negotiation abilities;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and familiarity with internet research tools and search engines;
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, multitasking capabilities, and project prioritization abilities.
Knowledge Needs & Experience
The ideal candidate must possess good administrative knowledge and including the following competencies but not limited to:
- Knowledge of Nigerian judicial procedures, litigation processes, and court operations;
- Familiarity with court locations, filing procedures, and regulatory requirements.
