Lifting of the Suspension of Judicial and Disciplinary Deadlines During the State of Emergency

We hereby call the attention of the business community and other interested parties that Presidential Decree no. 23/2020 of 5 August, which declares the State of Emergency for a period of 30 days due to reasons of public calamity, as well as Decree no. 69/2020 of 11 August, which approves the administrative enforcement measures for the prevention and containment of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic,  in force during the State of Emergency, does not suspend the procedural and administrative deadlines, including the deadlines for disciplinary procedures.

We therefore call on employers to comply with the legal deadlines, and in particular the deadlines for disciplinary proceedings, including those deadlines the counting of which began before the declaration of the State of Emergency, that is, before 1 April 2020.
