Minimum salaries for 2021

We hereby inform the business community and other interested parties that the Council of Ministers approved on 26 August 2021, the national minimum wage, by sector of activity, for the year 2021, with effect from 1 August.
The readjustment comes one year after the suspension of discussions on the new minimum wage tables for the year 2020, due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
We present below, in a table format, the minimum wages which were in force throughout the years 2019 to July 2021 and those approved for 2021, by sector of activity, showing also the corresponding percentage of adjustment.
Please note that employers may set minimum wages higher than the ones shown in the above table. The wages for other professional categories, which are not covered by the minimum wage adjustment mentioned here, are subject to collective negotiation between employers and their unions.
The minimum wages approved for the year 2021 shall take effect from 1 August 2021.
