End of Waiver of Fines and Interest Rebate Payments on Social Security

We hereby remind the business community and other interested parties that the Decree No. 29/2021, of 12 May (hereinafter the “Decree”), which grants forgiveness of fines and the reduction of interests rebate arising from the payment of contributions to the Mandatory Social Security System, is still in force.

The Decree, which is valid for 12 months, will cease to be in force as of 13th May 2022.

We recommend that taxpayers that have not yet had the opportunity to regularize their contributory situation and benefit from the total forgiveness of fines and reduction of interest for late payment by up to 98%, to do so until the 12th of May of the current year.

It is recalled that the concession covers companies and self-employed persons, including companies that for any reason have not registered with the INSS, those that have pending coercive collection processes before Courts, Prosecutors and Private Tax Enforcement Courts and even those who entered into payment agreements by installments.
