Antitrust and Competition

A key aspect of our M&A services is the ability to assist clients with the implications of their transactions and general conduct from a competition perspective.

To this end, we assist clients with advising on the competition law implications of a variety of their business activities and transactions, including merger control, restrictive practices and monopoly situations.

Experience has included advising:

  • In obtaining approval from the Competition and Tariff Commission for Puma Energy’s acquisition of the majority shareholding of Redan Petroleum
  • In obtaining the approval from the Competition and Tariff Commission for Lesaffre International’s acquisition of the business of Anchor Yeast
  • In obtaining approval from the Competition and Tariff Commission in respect of the acquisition by a pharmaceuticals company of the entire issued share capital of a specialised healthcare marketing and distribution company
