Mutale is a Partner and head of the Banking and Finance Team of Chibesakunda & Company. Mutale has gained extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, FDI Projects, mining, financial advisory and tax advisory.
Mutale principally specializes in leveraged corporate finance, particularly clients seek out Mutale for his real estate finance work as he has advised a number of local and international financials in relation to the financing of the construction and acquisition of Zambia’s largest retail shopping malls.
Experience has included advising:
- Afrexim Bank in relation to the USD30 million structured trade finance facility to the Zambian Government of Zambia
- Trafigura in relation to a USD50 million pre export finance facility availed to Zambian mining company
- Scipion Capital in relation to recurring structured commodity trade finance transactions in Zambia
- IFC/OFID in the USD9 million financing of construction of the Novare Great North Mall
- IFC in the USD6 million financing of Novare Partners acquisition and expansion of the Twin Palm mall
- Stanbic Bank Zambia in relation to the US$4m financing of the construction of the Lewanika – City of Lusaka Mall
- Mercuria Trading in relation a pre export financing of copper cathodes produced by a Zambian smelter
- Barclays Bank Zambia Plc in relation to the financing and construction of Solwezi City Mall
- Stanbic Bank on the construction financing of the first PPP between the University of Zambia and a private investor
- DEG and FMO in relation to the USD30 million financing of a 600 TPD Lime Plant
